Adult Choirs

St. Alphonsus Parish & St. Benedict Parish

  • 9 AM Sunday Mass
  • 11 AM Sunday Mass

This choir is a combined ensemble of parishioners from St. Alphonsus and St. Benedict who come together under the leadership of Andrew Koch to lead the assembly in prayer through music. The choir focuses on sacred choral anthems, traditional and contemporary hymnody, and Gregorian Chant that enrich the beauty and prayerfulness of our liturgies. The choir occasionally combines with the 8:30 choir for St. John for high holy days and Holy Week liturgies.

Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 7-9PM. New singers are welcome! Basic music-reading skills are expected, and previous choral experience is helpful but not required. For more information, email akoch@parishfamily14.org.

St. John Parish

  • 8:30 AM Sunday Mass

The St. John the Evangelist Choir, led by Kate Reinhard, provides music for the Sunday 8:30 a.m. Mass. The choir sings a varied repertoire of traditional hymnody, sacred choral music, and music from the Church’s rich liturgical tradition, with an emphasis on thoughtful, prayerful singing that supports the worship of the parish community.

The choir rehearses Thursdays from 7:00–9:00 p.m. New singers are welcome! Basic music-reading skills are expected, and previous choral experience is helpful but not required. The choir is a wonderful opportunity to grow as a musician, deepen your participation in the liturgy, and serve the parish through sacred music. Contact kreinhard@parishfamily14.org with any questions.

  • 10:30 AM Sunday Mass

Under the direction of Joseph Tancioco and Toni Fortunato, the St. John the Evangelist Choir provides music for the Sunday 10:30 a.m. mass.  Composed of parishioners, the choir supports the assembly in prayer through a blend of contemporary and traditional sacred music for the parish’s liturgies and worship.

No midweek rehearsal is scheduled. Instead, choir members receive recordings and access to a digital library of hymns and are expected to spend time each week becoming familiar with selected music. A rehearsal is held before each Sunday liturgy at 9:15 a.m. in Portable 42, next to the parish parking lot.

No audition, prior experience, or music-reading ability is required, although experience is certainly helpful. Before joining, prospective members should contact Joseph Tancioco or Toni Fortunato to discuss their musical background, skills, and knowledge.

Children's Choir

At this time, Parish Family 14 does not offer a children's choir. We are looking to launch a children's music program in the coming year(s), however, to increase children's participation in the liturgy throughout the year but especially at significant liturgies around Christmas and Easter. Please be on the lookout for more information and if you have questions or comments, please contact Andrew Koch or Kate Reinhard.
